Disclaimer: I'm not the game company Namco/Bandai Namco, I just happen to use that handle for my web presence.
I enjoy playing retro games and I stream on Twitch.
My game dev experience really started in the 2000s. Although, I had played around with the idea previous to this with failed attempts. The first two books I looked into was Sams Teach Yourself Game Programming in 24 Hours and then Sams Game Programming with DirectX in 21 Days.
I bought the open source GP2X handheld and started porting some games to it. I then started a game project called The Road to Mayfair - a Monopoly clone for the GP2X but never finished it.
My first released game was a remake of a ZX Spectrum game called Robber in 2009, written with GLBasic. This was while I was a regular on the Retro Remakes forums. I also started E.T. The Extra Terrestrial Remake but I didn't get it to a releasable state until 2016.
I always wanted to have a go at assembler programming and finally got the chance during the game jam: Speccy Jam 2. This was where I made Bob the Space Janitor.
